Emalee's Barista Bio

Emalee became a Shimoji barista in July of 2018. She had always loved coffee and she was a frequent customer at Shimoji Coffee before applying, so she knew she would fit right in as a barista! Emalee enjoys getting to know our customers and having great conversations with them!

When Emalee is craving something sweet and wants a lot of caffeine, she indulges in one of our seasonal drinks, the Cookies ‘n Cream Yukiccino. A Yuki is Shimoji’s version of a frappe! The delicious Cookies ‘n Cream Yuki is made with Oreo cookies. Emalee likes to add an extra shot of espresso to her Yuki. When she’s in the mood for less caffeine and sugar, her go to drink is an unsweet Iced Green Tea. Emalee’s favorite baked good is the Cinnamon Sugar Scone because it’s not too sweet.

Emalee is a full-time student in nursing school at Kaskaskia College, as well as a trumpet player for the school’s pep, jazz, and concert bands! She believes that everyone should learn to play at least one instrument in their lifetime. During her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and going shopping.
